Emergency responders in South Iceland, along with the Icelandic Coast Guard and the Grindavík Fire Department, took part in a large-scale training exercise at the Selfoss airfield on Saturday, from 12:00 to 18:00.

The South Iceland Police shared the news on their official Facebook page. A photographer from mbl.is was on site and captured images from the exercise.

The drill was part of the development of training material and involved coordinated operations, including two helicopters from the Icelandic Coast Guard, as well as participation from the police, fire brigade, and search and rescue teams.

The objective of the exercise was to strengthen coordination and cooperation among emergency services nationwide.
