The main proceedings have begun in the case of Sigurður Fannar Þórisson, who stands accused of killing his daughter, Kolfinna Eldey, near Krýsuvíkurvegur Road in September.

Þórisson appeared today at the Reykjanes District Court, where the trial is being held. He covered his face as he passed by members of the media.

The trial is being held behind closed doors, and journalists are not permitted to observe the proceedings inside the courtroom.

Þórisson is accused of attacking and fatally injuring his daughter, Kolfinna Eldey, on September 15 near Krýsuvíkurvegur Road. He later contacted the police himself and directed them to the location of the body.

In addition to the murder charge, Þórisson also faces charges of drug-related offenses, as police found a large quantity of illegal substances, including cocaine and MDMA, in his possession. According to the indictment, the drugs were discovered during a search of a shipping container near Kapelluhraun in Hafnarfjörður on the same day Kolfinna’s body was found.
