Weather permitting, road paving operations are scheduled to take place Tuesday night at several locations along Reykjanesbraut (Route 41).
Paving will occur between Arnarnesvegur and Fífuhvammsvegur, a stretch approximately 400 meters long. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and vehicles will be rerouted via Bæjarlind and Fífuhvammsvegur.
The work is expected to take place from 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night to 4:00 a.m. on the night of Wednesday, June 11.
In addition, milling operations are planned in the southbound lanes between Arnarnesvegur and Kaplakriki, covering a stretch of about 2 kilometers. Traffic will be narrowed to a single lane, with a detour through Arnarnesvegur and Hafnarfjarðarvegur.
This work is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. tomorrow to 3:00 a.m., also overnight on Wednesday, June 11.
Finally, paving is also planned northbound from the Vífilsstaðavegur exit, covering approximately 560 meters. This section will also be reduced to a single lane, and traffic will be diverted via the roundabout on Vífilsstaðavegur.
Drivers are urged to follow signage, observe speed limits, and exercise caution near construction zones. Work areas will be narrow, with workers and equipment operating very close to the traffic lanes.
