New TV awards postponed indefinitely
The launch of Iceland’s new television awards, originally scheduled for this month, has been postponed indefinitely. Organizers cite ongoing challenges in establishing the awards—and say the situation has only worsened.
Kristjana Þór Brynjólfsdóttir, Director of Media and Content at Sýn, confirmed that the decision was made in response to recent changes in programming at RÚV.
As previously reported, Skarphéðinn Guðmundsson stepped down as RÚV’s Program Director earlier this year. His successor, Eva Georgs Ásudóttir, assumed the role only a week ago.
