Icelandair carried 381,000 passengers in April, a 24% increase compared to the same month last year, according to a statement from the airline. Of these, 47% were connecting passengers, while 19% were traveling to Iceland and another 19% departing from the country.

The airline has served over 1.2 million passengers so far in 2025. Capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, rose by 25% year-on-year, matching a 25% increase in passenger traffic. The seat load factor stood at 81%, and punctuality reached 91%—up three percentage points from last year.

Charter flight hours sold increased by 82%, and cargo traffic grew by 12%.

Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, credited the strong results to staff performance and operational efficiency. “The operation of the route network went very well in April… this success is primarily due to the excellent performance of the company’s employees and our continued focus on operational efficiency,” he said.
