A clearer picture emerging in Gufunes death investigation

With each passing hour, investigators are gaining a better understanding of the events leading up to the death of a man found in Gufunes on Tuesday morning, according to Jón Gunnar Þórhallsson, Chief Inspector of the South Iceland Police.
"The investigation is in full swing, and today we continue with planned interviews and data processing. There is a significant amount of information that needs to be reviewed and analyzed," Jón Gunnar told mbl.is.
Five in custody as investigation progresses
A total of five individuals—three men and two women—are currently in custody in connection with the case, which involves allegations of deprivation of liberty, extortion, and murder.
The South Iceland Police are receiving support from law enforcement units in neighboring municipalities, the capital area, the technical department, and the District Prosecutor’s Office to handle various aspects of the investigation.
