Northern lights and the moon next to Mars tonight
A significant aurora activity is forecast tonight, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office website. An announcement from the Astronomy website on Facebook says that there is a prospect of “fine auroras tonight”.
It further states: “The Earth is inside a high-speed stream of solar wind from the coronal mass. Therefore, good auroras can be expected tonight.” It also notes that the moon will be next to Mars tonight.
