Photos: See the new wing at Keflavík Airport
A hall, a more spacious departure hall, six new departure gates, four of which have gangways all the way to the plane, are among the features of the new, nearly 30 billion krónur east wing of Keflavík Airport.
The wing measures about 25 thousand square meters and is about a third larger than the terminal as it has been in recent years.

Spacious departure hall
The new departure hall is quite spacious. There are six new departure gates and toilet facilities. A breakthrough for departing passengers and Keflavík Airport staff.
New food hall
Over the past 24 months, the terminal building's shops and restaurants have been upgraded. Three new food halls have opened in the east wing's connecting building to the old terminal building.
Six new departure gates
Four of the six new departure gates have a gangway that leads all the way to the plane, while the other two gates have new bus parking lots, which are considerably more spacious than the older parking lots in the terminal.
A breakthrough for staff
A new back area for baggage belts has been installed and the baggage hall in the terminal has been expanded – a real breakthrough for those walking through the areas.
