According to a meteorologist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, after stormy days with red, orange, and yellow warnings across the country, there are no warnings on the maps for the next few days.
"Everyone must be happy that this is over," says Björn Sævar Einarsson, a meteorologist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, in an interview with mbl.is.
Einarsson says that two small depressions are moving across the country today, one in the west and the other over the Eastfjords. Tomorrow morning, another small depression will come in the west and be accompanied by a snow bank with continuous snowfall for several hours throughout the western part of the country.
He says that on Sunday and Monday, there will be a southerly wind with warming weather, and after that, there will be a southeasterly wind until next weekend with temperatures around 6 degrees in the west of the country but it will be cooler in the north.
Stable weather for the rest of the week
"The weather will be stable for the rest of the week and there are no storms in the maps," Einarsson says.
He says that work is underway to review the figures for the severe storm that swept across the country yesterday and the day before.
"With the previous depression, there was quite a lot of wind across the country, and the precipitation in the form of rain in both the south and north of the country was enormous and it is unusual for it to rain so much in the south than in the north."
