Airplane skids off runway during landing
A runway at Reykjavík Airport had to be closed an hour ago due to an accident. A plane skidded off the runway during landing. Guðjón Helgason, Isavia's public relations officer, confirms that no one was injured.
The plane, TF-FFL, a Cessna Skyhawk C-172N trainer, skidded on landing at around 11 am this morning and the runway was closed while the Transportation Accident Investigation Board was investigating.
According to Helgason, the plane is being removed and the runway will then reopen. He says that the other runway was not closed due to the incident.
Icelandair flight FI36 was delayed due to the incident and is now scheduled for 1:10 pm, pending further information.
