A large crowd attended the Peace March in downtown Reykjavík last night. Peace activists gathered at Hlemm to the music of the Hamrahlíð High School choir and marched down Laugavegur to Austurvöllur, where an outdoor meeting was held.

The Peace March was first held in 1980, and many Icelandic peace movements have joined the march over the years.

This time, the march's message was a call for world leaders to negotiate peace in the various wars currently raging worldwide, especially in Ukraine and in the Israel-Gaza war.
