Blue Lagoon reopened: Guests ferried from Grindavík
After a two-week closure, the Blue Lagoon reopened its doors to guests on Friday.
The Retreat hotel opened today.
This is what Helga Árnadóttir, Director of Sales, Operations and Service, says in an interview with mbl.is. She says the opening has been very successful.
Guests ferried from Grindavík
"What we have had to adapt to is bringing guests to us through Grindavík," says the director, who reported this when the entire Blue Lagoon parking lot was destroyed by lava.
"As a result, we are now welcoming all guests in Grindavík and ferrying them over to us with shuttles."
Activities within the defense walls are unchanged
She says the company has not experienced any cancellations and that all that can be seen is that guests are happy with the opening and understand that they are being ferried from Grindavík.
She then mentions that all activities within the defense walls in the area are unchanged and that activities have now returned to normal.
