The northernmost crater is still active
Only one crater is now active.
The central and southern craters have most likely completely extinguished the eruption of the Sundhnúkagígar series.
This is according to Salóme Jórunn Bernharðsdóttir, a natural hazard specialist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, but the activity in the southernmost crater subsided yesterday.
The northernmost crater is still active and lava flows appear to be moving eastward, although it is not excluded that there could be something under the surface.
The volcanic activity has remained very steady since midnight yesterday.

It can now be assumed that most of the lava is flowing eastward. It is not excluded that lava is still flowing westward under the solidified surface.
However, no movement has been detected on the lava field that extends towards Svartsengi last night.
