In that context, Frederiksen specifically mentions international cooperation to deal with threats such as Russia. "This is especially true in Ukraine, where there is a need to continue our support for their struggle for freedom. That way it would not be possible for Russia to continue the war in Ukraine."
Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson sends greetings to the presidential candidate on X. "I congratulate [Donald Trump] on being elected the next president of the United States." I look forward to working together and continuing the great relationship between the United States and Sweden as friends and allies."
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre also congratulates Trump.
"On behalf of the Norwegian government, I would like to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory in the presidential election," Støre writes on X, also noting that the United States is Norway's most important ally.
Alexander Stubb, the president of Finland, has also congratulated Trump. "I look forward to working closely with you and your government to tackle the important challenges of our time." Finland and the United States are close allies in many areas, including security, technology, and trade."
