Some without electricity until the evening

Electricity came back on at 14.05 yesterday after a major disruption in Landsnet's transmission system.
This is stated in an announcement from RARIK, which reports that despite the fact that it was possible to rebuild the system and restore voltage, there were instances where some RARIK customers were still without electricity until the evening.
Major disturbance in Mývatnsveit
"This was the case in Mývatnsveit, but there was a major interruption in voltage, which in some cases damaged electrical devices and electrical panels," the announcement says.
Yesterday, RARIK sent out a notice to customers in Mývatnsveit asking those who were still without electricity to contact RARIK's fault watch.
Advised to contact in case of damages
Contractors in the area were also contacted, who went to the homes of those who made contact and were assisting people well into the evening.
Those who have suffered damage as a result of yesterday's events are advised to contact their distribution company, and RARIK customers can report damage on the RARIK website, www.rarik.is/tjon, while customers of other distribution companies such as Orkubú Vestfjarða, Norðurorka, etc. contact them.
It is stated that work is being done to ensure that customers get their issues resolved as quickly as possible.
