Traffic disruptions to Reynisfjara Black Beach for the next few days

Due to road construction and road painting to Reynisfjara Black Beach, there will be significant traffic disruptions and parking lot closures on Friday and Saturday.

Among other things, public traffic will be closed from Reyniskirkja Church down to the beach these two days, but buses will be able to get down to the upper car level part of the time. Construction is expected to be completed on Sunday.

An announcement from the landowners states that the upper parking lot will begin to be closed this Wednesday.

On Friday and Saturday, the lower car level will be closed, but the upper level will be open for larger buses on Friday and the second part of Saturday.

At that time, public traffic from Reyniskirkja Church will be closed, but people who come in their cars are free to walk down to Reynisfjara Black Beach, which is 2 km or 4 km both ways.
