The police in the capital region will today demand the continued custody of the man who is suspected of killing his ten-year-old daughter last week.

This is confirmed by Grímur Grímsson, senior police officer of the central investigation department , but the man's detention expires today. The man is the only one who has the status of a defendant, but he was arrested at Krýsuvíkurvegur Road on September 15, where his daughter's body was found.

Grímsson says that the investigation of the case is going well, but as reported on mbl.is, the police have received a lot of footage from passers-by who drove along Krýsuvíkurvegur Road between 1 pm and 6 pm on the same day that the girl was found dead there. Grímsson says that work is still ongoing to review the footage and other data related to the case.
