The police have received footage from passers-by who drove along Krýsuvíkurvegur Road, between Vallahverfi district in Hafnarfjörður and Vigdísarvallavegur Road on September 15 between 13 and 18, the same day a ten-year-old girl died there. The girl's father is suspected of having taken her life.

Grímur Grímsson, chief inspector of the central investigation department, says that the footage has not been reviewed and therefore cannot say how useful it will be. He says it is impossible to say how long it will take to review the footage, as it is not yet known how much footage has been received.

No tips received

The girl's father is not believed to have been under the influence when the girl lost her life. However, the results of the sampling have not been received.

Rumors that the murder is related to organized crime in Iceland have been brought to the attention of the police, who say there are no facts to support this.

Grímsson urged the public to get in touch with the police if they have information about the case that they think can be relied on. No such suggestions have been received yet.

Use of weapon not discussed

Grímsson says that more and better information is always being revealed about the lead-up to and the sequence of events that led to the girl's death, but the police keep their cards close and do not discuss if and which weapon was used.

Sigurður Fannar Þórsson, the girl's father, is the only one who has the status of a defendant in the case. Grímsson has little else to say about the case today, which is still in process.
