Arnaldur Indriðason, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, and Lilja Sigurðardóttir are among ten writers in the Nordic countries who have been nominated for the Petrona Prize in the UK, which is awarded for the best Nordic crime story.

Arnaldur Indriðason is nominated for the book The Girl by the Bridge; Yrsa Sigurðardóttir for the book The Prey; and Lilja Sigurðardóttir for the book White as Snow.

It should be noted that Yrsa Sigurðardóttir previously received this award in 2015 for The Silence of the Sea. She has also been nominated for the books  Someone to Watch Over Me in 2014; Why did You Lie in  2017; and Absolution in 2020.

Both Arnaldur Indriðason and Lilja Sigurðardóttir have previously been on Petrona's shortlist. Arnaldur Indriðason for Black Skies in 2013; Strange Shores in 2014; and Reykjavik Nights in 2015. Lilja Sigurðardóttir was nominated for Red as Blood in 2023; and Cold as Hell in 2022.

Other writers nominated are: Tove Alsterdal for the book You Will Never Be Found; Anne Mette Hancock for the book The Collector; Jørn Lier Horst for the book Snow Fall; Jørn Lier Horst and Thomas Enger for the book Stigma; Jógvan Isaksen for the book Dead Men Dancing; and Karin Smirnoff for the book The girl in the Eagle's Talons.
