The man has been found
Rescue team walked from Mt Kálfafellsstaður to Mt Miðfellsegg yesterday searching for the man. map/mbl.is
The hiker that emergency responders have sought today was found at four o’clock yesterday in Suðursveit.
This is confirmed by Þorsteinn M. Kristinsson, the Chief Deputy Director of the South Iceland Police, in a conversation with mbl.is.
No information was received about the condition of the man.
The call arrived at 7 am
The emergency call came in at about 7 am yesterday.
As has been mentioned, the man was searched for at Skálafellsjökull in Vatnajökull.
A helicopter of the Icelandic Coast Guard was launched, along with the Hornafjörður Rescue Team. The helicopter was carrying two rescue workers from the capital area.
