The hiker who was searched by the emergency response services in Suðursveit yesterday was found unresponsive.

Searching for a hiker in Skálafellsjökull glacier

This is stated in the announcement by the South Iceland Police.

The search began yesterday morning. Along with the police, the rescue-teams and the helicopter of the Icelandic Coast Guard participated in the search.

Around four o’clock yesterday, the hiker was found and he was dead.
