The Blue Lagoon is closed through Tuesday, June 11.

An announcement on the Blue Lagoon’s website reports that Grindavíkurvegur Road was closed yesterday due to lava flow. Lava began flowing across the road north of the defense walls at Svartsengi at eleven o’clock yesterday morning.

The Blue Lagoon has used the temporary closures due to the seismic activity on the peninsula to revise the response plans and improve the infrastructure of the area.
