There is no shortage of weather warnings these days, but orange and yellow warnings will be in place across the country today and tonight.

In the capital area, Suðurlandi, Faxaflói, and Breiðafjörður, yellow warnings take effect between 17-20 and are valid until 3 am.

In the Westfjords and the North West, there are orange warnings due to stormy weather and strong winds, and in the North East, East Fjords, the South East, and the Central Highlands, there are yellow weather warnings until the morning.

Today, the forecast is northwest 10-18 m/​s and 15-23 northwest until late evening. Rain, sleet, or snow in parts will occur in the northern part of the country and add to the precipitation in the afternoon. The temperature will be 0-5 degrees. The forecast is for dry weather in the south with a temperature of 6-12 degrees during the day, but it will be a bit wet there tonight.
