Black ice on Holtavörðurheiði and sleet on many routes

There is black ice on Holtavörðuheiði in West Iceland and sleet on Steingrímsfjarðarheiði in the West Fjords.

In North Iceland, snow cover or ice is present on most routes in Skagafjörður, but slippery patches are present on Öxnadalsheiði.

Weather warnings continue

Heavy snowfall is expected on Fnjóskadalsvegur Road and there is also uncertainty due to avalanches in Dalsmynni. The Víkurskarð pass is closed, according to the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration.

In the northeast, there is sleet, snow, or black ice patches on most routes.

In East Iceland, there is sleet in Fagridalur valley, but there is black ice in Fjarðarheiði. It is not possible to travel through Öxi and Mjóafjarðarheiði.
