Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, former President of Iceland, has been honored with a special honorary award for his contribution to the UN Climate Change Conference, COP28, which was held in the United Arab Emirates at the end of last year.

This is reported in an announcement from Arctic Circle.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, presented Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson with a medal at a ceremony in the capital Abu Dhabi yesterday.

At the beginning of last year, Grímsson joined the international advisory committee of the President of the Climate Change Parliament and attended regular consultations in Abu Dhabi in preparation for the climate change Parliament.
