Big stars released song about Akureyri

Recently the Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra and the Spanish singer Aitana released a song titled Akureyri. However, this collaboration has been a source of some attention as they had a romantic relationship for several months in the last year but announced their break-up at the end of the year.
The song was created during a trip that Yatra and Aitana took to Akureyri last summer to celebrate Aitana’s birthday on June 27. “Sebastián started writing lyrics and I started creating the song line. And we finished the song in the car,” Aitana told Billboard about the song.
They also recorded a music video in Iceland that they have shared on YouTube, with Aitana having 2.39 million followers there and almost four million followers on Instagram, and Yatra has 18.3 million followers on YouTube and over 29.3 million followers on Instagram.
Did Akureyri light the spark again?
After the release, there have been rumours that Yatra and Aitana have regained their love. “Both of them have decided to unite in this new song, which they released on April 26 and which also seems to be a definitive confirmation that the pair have settled,” the Spanish media outlet Hola! writes in a coverage of the song.
“Iceland is a good place to settle because of its temperatures – with average temperatures ranging from 1°-2°C in winter and 12°C in summer – which begs for hugs,” is says in the article.
