Easter weekend looks good in the North

Icelandic skiers should be able to enjoy their skiing in Hlíðarfjall mountain in Akureyri over Easter, since the weather is looking good, and the mountain will offer all kinds of activities.

The majority of Icelanders are now enjoying the Easter holidays, and Hlíðarfjall employees expect a large number of visitors to the mountain in the coming days.

Good weather for skiing this weekend

About 1,500 people had made their way to the mountain when mbl.is checked around noon. Employees expect that around 2,000 people will be in the area every day during the Easter holiday.

Ski weather is expected to be good this weekend in the north, with low-level snowfall and mild winter weather. Saturday will bring a little wind, but it shouldn’t affect too much.

There is plenty of snow on the slopes and employees expect the skiing area to be open all weekend.

“Apres ski” and DJs in the area

There will be a lot of events in the mountains. DJ Ayo will play music in the area every day. Then, at 2 pm, the ski resort will host an “apres ski” at the ski hotel every day.

Musicians Rúnar Eff and Jónsi will perform at the ski hotel, located just outside the ski resort, on Saturday and Sunday.
