Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir says that we cannot wait for the newly passed UN Security Council resolution to be implemented.
This is what Jakobsdóttir stated in a post on social media X following the Security Council’s decision to call for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza. In addition, it is demanded that all hostages be released.
It has been a long wait for a resolution
The proposal came after the United States seemed to have cut back on its strong support for Israel.
In her statement, Jakobsdótti writes that there has been a long wait for the UN to adopt a resolution on an immediate cease-fire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
Now that the resolution has been passed, Jakobsdóttir says, we cannot wait for the cease-fire to begin.
