Why eruptions on the Reykjanes peninsula do not affect air travel

What is going on in the Reykjanes peninsula is very different from the volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull in 2010, which did impact air travel a lot in the northern part of Europe.

This might sound strange to those who are not volcanologists, but here dr. Matthew Roberts from the Icelandic Meteorological Office explains in this short video why the seismic activity on the Reykjanes peninsula does not affect air travel
