Strong earthquake at Kleifarvatn tonight
At 18:27 tonight, an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 hit the east side of Kleifarvatn.
According to a report from the Icelandic Met Office, the earthquake occurred two kilometers east of the lake and was felt in nearby settlements. Several aftershocks have followed.
There has been some activity in this area in the last few days.
The last earthquake of a similar magnitude was recorded on November 13, the magnitude of 3.5.
