No travelling weather in the north
Drivers of 80 cars were assisted throughout North-West Iceland last night due to bad driving conditions, from Vatnsskarð to Holtavörðuheiði.
The rescue teams in Húnavatnssýsla county and Borgarfjörður were working all night last night, according to the police in North-West Iceland on Facebook.
It encourages drivers to keep an eye on reports of driving conditions and weather before they take off.
Unable to pass over Holtavörðuheiði today
The road through Holtavörðuheiði is impassable. Further information is expected in the morning.
The road through Súðavíkurhlið in the Westfjords is also closed due to the risk level due to avalanche risk. The situation will be reevaluated today.
