The weather is bright on the Reykjanes Peninsula today with colder weather forecasted. Tomorrow is expected to become overcast with a decrease in frost in the afternoon. "Colder weather today," says Katrín Agla Tómasdóttir, a meteorologist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, asked about the weather on the Reykjanes Peninsula in light of the latest news.

Tómasdóttir says the weather is getting colder today, and frost is expected to be between 3-10 degrees. However, it will become overcast tomorrow, and then the frost will decrease. Therefore, tomorrow afternoon, frost is expected to be around 0-5 degrees on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Then, the temperature is expected to remain similar until Saturday, but then it will start to warm up slightly on Sunday, or after the weekend, Tómasdóttir says, adding that then the temperature will be around or above the freezing point.

Gas Pollution Could Drift Over Reykjanesbær

Asked about gas pollution, Tómasdóttir says the wind is mainly going southwest today, given the northeasterly directions. Tomorrow the directions will then be from the east, and possibly from the southeast, but then gas pollution could drift over Reykjanesbær. It is still not clear how high the concentration of the gas pollution is and therefore unclear how much pollution there will be.
