Volcanic eruption has started on the Reykjanes peninsula
A volcanic eruption has begun on the Reykjanes peninsula.
An increased seismic activity was detected at 05:40 this morning, and it was a magma run, according to the Met Office.
Then around 6 am this morning, another volcanic eruption began on the Sundahnúkscrater row, north of Sýlingarfell.
Prior to the eruption, the Met Office had announced that magma-runs had begun and there were increased likelihood of a volcanic eruption at Sundhnúkarater row.
