Last December was among the coldest Decembers in Iceland this century. This is stated in a summary from the Icelandic Met Office.

The average temperature was well below the national average.

The cold weather was, however, not like the cold season that began in December 2022.

“The month was dry and calm. It was relatively cold in the north, but warmer on the south coast,” the Met Office writes.
