Happy new year!

Iceland Monitor wishes all a happy new year and thanks for the year that has passed.
The psalm below, written by Valdimar Briem and usually sung to the song of the Danish composer Andreas Peter Berggreen, and has been traditionally sung at the end of the year when the new year is coming in.
The lyrics are melancholy noting the passing of time and how we never get back old times, except in the form of memories. However, the grace of God should be remembered, the grace that blesses mankind every day and brings us the spring and beauty of the world. The lyrics end on a hopeful note with a pray for a good year to come and a sense of thankfulness for all the years that have passed.
