The Road and Coastal Administration reports on their website that the effects of the land rise at Svartsengi can be seen on the road.

Significant difference from Wednesday

It is noted that cracks have formed closer to Grindavík than before.

In addition, cracks have started to form in the site of the repairs, near the site where the land is rising now.

It says that the Road Administration’s inspector finds a significant difference between today’s roads and yesterday’s.

There is no need to close the road but the developments are closely monitored in collaboration with the police and civil defence.
