The sale of the Icelandic Collab collagen drink in Norway has now begun. These are the first formal steps in the Ölgerðin’s expansion of this drink, which has been extremely popular in Iceland. Preparations have been underway for a while and more market areas are being considered.

According to Gunnar B. Sigurgeirsson, vice-president of Ölgerðin, it is health-care stores like Kinsvik Natur and Good Life that are driving sales of Collab in Norway, but there are ideas for further distribution in the coming season. “The reception has been good,” he says.

10 million cans sold this year

“Kinsarvik Naturkost is a healthcare chain that operates 14 stores in Norway and maintains a strong online sales presence. Sales have now officially begun in Norway at Kinsarvik, but Collab can also be accessed through the online retailer Good Life.

The health-products chain showed interest in the product earlier this year and it’s safe to say that its distinctiveness has inspired this interest; high-quality collagen made from fish-eyes with a sustainable approach is one thing we find that’s drawing a lot of interest abroad. But also things like the taste and the following success in the local market make Collab attractive in the eyes of the health-products store,” says Sigurgeirsson, who also points out that it’s not just Icelanders who are interested in drinking Collab.
