Solidarity meeting with the Palestinians on the International Human Rights Day

The Iceland-Palestine Association called for a solidarity march today, on the International Human Rights Day. The march was from the Foreign Ministry down to Austurvöllur.

The association has been responsible for several events since the war between Israelis and the terrorist group Hamas began on October 7. The march and the meetings demand that the international community respect the human rights of Palestinians.

Sal­vör Gull­brá Þór­ar­ins­dóttir­ spoke­ outside of the­ Ministry­ of For­eign­ Affairs­, while the­ meeting­ manager­at ­Austur­völlur­ was Ilm­ur Kristjáns­dóttir­. Sayed­ Atahan­ and Bergþóra Snæ­björn­sdóttir­ gave speeches and actor ­Daví­d­ Þór­ Katrín­ar­son­ reci­ted­ed ­a­ poem ­by­ Ref­at­ A­are­er.

Today marks 75 years since the adoption of the UN Declaration of Human Rights in Paris, December 10, 1948.
