Solidarity meeting with the Palestinians on the International Human Rights Day
The Iceland-Palestine Association called for a solidarity march today, on the International Human Rights Day. The march was from the Foreign Ministry down to Austurvöllur.
The association has been responsible for several events since the war between Israelis and the terrorist group Hamas began on October 7. The march and the meetings demand that the international community respect the human rights of Palestinians.
Salvör Gullbrá Þórarinsdóttir spoke outside of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the meeting managerat Austurvöllur was Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir. Sayed Atahan and Bergþóra Snæbjörnsdóttir gave speeches and actor Davíd Þór Katrínarson reciteded a poem by Refat Aareer.
Today marks 75 years since the adoption of the UN Declaration of Human Rights in Paris, December 10, 1948.
