Do not let the weather stop their daily game of golf

Presumably, most of the people were not paying attention to outdoor activities when the winds were at their highest in the capital area yesterday morning. But that did not stop the old time friends Bjarni Jóhannsson and Pétur Elíasson, who decided to take a round of golf at Hvalreyrarvöllur or Keilir golf course in Hafnarfjörður.
A journalist had taken a wrong turn driving and was keen to turn around when he watched in disbelief as the two were ready to fly the green, as golfers sometimes talk about. He couldn’t resist talking to the friends Bjarni and Pétur, who are in their 80s.
Taking care of one's health
When asked about why they thought of going to a golf course in such weather, Pétur says, “One has to take care of one’s health,” as if nothing was more self-evident.
“If it’s a good thing, we try to go every day,” Pétur adds.
Bjarni has 18 handicap in golf, while Pétur has 20, adding that he has increased his number recently.
But you never regret going when the weather is bad?
“No, no, we’ll just go home if it’s not possible to play. It’s just about dressing appropriately for the weather,” Bjarni says as he puts the cap on his hooded sweater over his ear.
But aren't you losing your golfballs?
“No, we always find more than we lose,” Bjarni says.
