Icelandair and Play have cancelled and delayed dozens of flights both last night and today  due to the impending southeasterly gale-force windstorm that hit Iceland last night and is forecast to last into the day.

Icelandair's website shows that all US flights are delayed. 19 planned flights to Europe have been cancelled tomorrow. All domestic flights have been cancelled tomorrow.

Play announced that the airline postponed scheduled flights that were scheduled to leave Barcelona and Madrid for Iceland last night. The scheduled departure for those flights will be at 11 AM today and arrival at Keflavik airport will be at 4 PM.

In addition, PLAY cancelled 7 scheduled flights to Europe this morning and delayed flights to Tenerife and Copenhagen until the afternoon.

“Planned flights that were due to arrive from North America to Iceland in the morning, 19 October, have been delayed and will instead land at Keflavík International Airport at 16 o’clock,” the announcement reads.
