Free bus services for the car free day

There will be free bus services in both the capital area and the countryside on Friday for the Car free day 2023.
The announcement comes as the car free day is being held on the occasion of the European Transport Week, which runs from 16-22 September.

In recent years, the bus company has participated in Transport Week by celebrating the car free day and offering free bus services in the capital area. This year, the Icelandic Road Administration has decided to join forces with Strætó, so passengers will also be able to travel free on the rural bus next Friday.
“This is a perfect opportunity to do something different and to stroll, run, cycle, jump, or take the bus to work or school,” Strætó stated.
