The President running with the locals
The President of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, participated in Eyrarskokk jog in Akureyri today. Eyrarskokk is a running group that has grown steadily over the past few years and today has become crowded and is composed of people of all shapes and sizes with different running styles and speeds, as stated on the group’s website.

The President and First Lady Eliza Reid began their official visit to Akureyri yesterday morning. The visit lasts for two days.
Open art exhibitions
The president inaugurated the town’s festival Akureyrarvaka in Lystigardur park, last night and today the president and his wife will visit the Akureyri Art Museum. There, the president will open several exhibitions, with the museum now celebrating its 30th anniversary.
