Three Icelandic artists nominated in the Top 20 Under 30 – Nordic Music Biz

Today NOMEX announced the “Top 20 Under 30 – Nordic Music Biz” and this year there are three Icelandic artists nominated.   It is Bjarni Daníel Þorvaldsson , Junia Lin Jónsdóttir and S ólveig Matthildur Kristjándóttir who will go from Iceland to accept the award at a prestigious ceremony at the By:Larm festival in Norway on September 14.

The Icelandic artists present a great range of the music scene in Iceland.

Bjarni Daníel has become an internationally recognised voice for his work in the artist collective known as ‘Póst Dreifing’ who are recognised for their community oriented focus on creativity and their activism.

Junia Lin has been the creative director for our latest breakout star from Iceland, Laufey, who also happens to be her twin sister. She know manages social media accounts for other artists as well, and works on Brand Partnerships for Universal in their London office.

Sólveig Matthildur is most known for her work on breaking her dark-wave band Kælan Mikla on both sides of the Icelandic, but the act has been touring relentlessly on both sides of the Icelandic in the past year.

The awards

"Now in its sixth year, the Nordic Music Biz' Top 20 Under 30 initiative focuses on diversity across industry sectors and genres, reflecting the varied music scene in the region. This year, the list also highlights an industry talent from the Faroe Islands, expanding its reach. NOMEX, a collaborative effort involving Export Music Sweden, Music Export Denmark, Music Finland, Iceland Music Export, and Music Norway, has been dedicated to nurturing growth and development within the Nordic music sector for over a decade," is reported in an announcement from NOMEX.

"Behind the scenes, the young professionals play a significant role in the rise of Nordic music and its global impact, bringing new perspectives and innovative ideas to the ever-evolving industry."
