The crater has increased by three meters per day since the eruption began, with the crater measuring22 meters high yesterday. This is reported in an entry on the Facebook page of the Icelandic Metrological and Natural Hazards Research Laboratory.

The representatives of the laboratory, who were in the eruption site yesterday, also installed a high-resolution camera to get better information on how the gas is being released from the magma in the crater. Samples were also taken at the crater.

The Coast Guard helicopter was also on fire duty in the area, and the lab’s entry states that its effectiveness was excellent.
