All hands on deck in the fire in Blesugróf

Last night, every available fire crew was called out because of a large fire in a house in Blesugróf. Therefore, additional crews were called both to man ambulances and to be on duty in case of a fire in the town.

Just before 10 PM last night the fire service representatives said that there were no signs of people having been injured due to the fire. They had managed to get the fire in the roof under control and were beginning to remove the roof, after fighting the fire for around eight hours.

The fire department reports in a Facebook posting about their hectic day yesterday, when they had four calls for pump trucks, but in addition to the fire in Blesugróf, there were two calls about road accidents and one about a boat that was in trouble in Nauthólsvík. The total number of ambulance services was 126.
