The new Minister of Justice Guðrún Hafsteinsdóttir tells mbl.is that she will step down firmly in the case of foreigners. In addition, she says she will be submitting the police bill unchanged again.

Jón Gunnarson, who left the office of Minister of Justiceon Monday, has not been able to get his two cases  through the Parliament.

An uncontrolled foreign policy?

Hafsteinsdóttir says she sees the question as a first attempt to put forth the police bill unchanged again.

"I will look at it, but it will be expected to be submitted again, yes."

Your predecessor in office has said that the foreign policy issue is unconstitutional, do you agree?

"The foreign policy issue is a heavy and very urgent one and is starting to be severely tested by all our infrastucture. It is worrying so there needs to be a firm grounding and decisions have to be made, that is clear."
