Bright red new parking spaces at Kerið

The number of parking spaces at Kerið in Grímsnes has doubled to meet demand, but Kerið is a popular tourist destination, not too far from the city of Reykjavik. Óskar Magnússon, one of the operators of Kerið, says the project is also improving the safety of tourists who visit Kerið.
The parking spots are built using red gravel, a natural product from the area. Magnússon stated that it “is much more suited to the surroundings than asphalt.” The new parking structure is part of the development of the area, and a second facility is constructed by Kerið, with a guest room with toilets for staff and visitors.
