First flight to Prague this morning

Icelandair’s first scheduled flight to Prague in the Czech Republic, took off from Keflavík International Airport this morning. Upon landing in Prague, passengers received a generous welcome as fire trucks sprayed the traditional honor bow over the aircraft as it taxied up to the terminal.

Prague is a historic city and a very popular destination for city tours, adding an interesting destination to Icelandair’s strong network for both connecting passengers and Icelanders. The airline will fly to Prague four times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays through October 2023.

“Prague is an exciting addition to our dynamic summer schedule. The city has much to offer in terms of culture, art, history and cuisine. We see great opportunities to offer morning flights to Prague, which connects well into our North American flights.

Currently, there are few flight connections from Prague to the US and Canada, so we will dramatically improve connections between these markets as well as provide convenient departure times between Iceland and Prague,” says Bogi Nils Bogason, director of Icelandair.
