Swimming pool closures this weekend in the countryside due to BSRB union strike
The short term strikes by pool workers based in the BSRB will likely result in pools having to be closed during the Pentecost weekend. This is stated in the BSRB announcement.
The staff of the swimming pools and sports centres in the West, North, and East Iceland join the already defunct BSRB and SNS collectives.
The staff of swimming pools and sport centres will go on strike this weekend, for example in Borgarbyggð and Akureyri, and they will likely close their doors to visitors during the Pentecost weekend, the report stated.
“If no agreements are reached by June 5, swimming pools and sports centers will be added in even more municipalities, including the capital area, up to the time of the agreement,” the announcement reads.
