A man fired a shot in a bar on Tryggvagata in Reykjavík this evening. Police are currently searching for the shooter and are on high alert in downtown Reykjavík, according to mbl.is.

The shot was fired against a wall at the bar and the shooter fled the scene afterwards.

Police responded quickly, armed themselves and are searching for the shooter. The police department asks the person to come forward, as stated in a report from the Metropolitan Police. Police deployed a large team along with a special unit and paramedics were called to the scene.
